Have you ever felt stuck in between? This piece prompts the emotion of frustration through the playful, yet annoyed expression given by the subject in the artwork. You can notice that the subject's hair is also being pulled from either side; this is a metaphor for the tension that I felt while the two sides of my cultural identity conflicted with each other. The prominent swirls of lines and fluid motion is an artistic technique that comes from inspiration of a Greek artist, Nikos Gyftakis.
